The opening to Kill Me Baby, an anime based on a 4-koma manga.
Uh, yeah. Longest one minute and twenty-nine seconds of my life. The last seven seconds are the worst.
4-Koma is a type of manga more similar to american newspaper comics. They’re collections of 4-panel comic strips centered around telling jokes, and they are quite popular. Probably the most famous one is Azumanga Daioh, a very funny series about a bunch of high school girls. It’s quite good, and definitely worth buying. Other famous ones include Lucky Star, and K-On.
Kill Me Baby is…weird. You can find the 4-koma on Mangafox, and Youtube has fan translated ones floating around. The jokes fall a bit flat, and the anime seems to want to annoy you. One character’s voice is so grating that it sucks all the humor out of her appearance, and apart from the crazy dance at the end, it seems forgettable.
Apart from some minor violence in the few episodes I could bear to watch, there really wasn’t much objectionable. Think Tom and Jerry style violence.

Wow, I was about to suggest Neko-mimi Mode as a worse anime intro, but I think that “Kill Me Baby” is significantly worse.

Yeah, I don’t have all that high of a bar for intros to begin with, but that one causes almost physical pain.

Oy. That is awful. Too bad. I stumbled across the 4-koma a couple of years ago and sort of liked it. “Adolescent assassin befriended by good-hearted idiot. Hi-jinks ensue.”

I started reading some of them. They’re okay, but it feels so generic. Like there’s a 4-koma formula where you toss in a few weird girls and expect the punchlines to form. I guess I like the parody 4-koma better. The ones where they take an existing series and twist everyone’s personalities, like they did with .hack-making Kite an idiot, or Atoli a stalker.
